About Educational Voice and This Website
Educational Voice is a Belfast-based 2D animation studio founded in 2019 by Michelle Connolly, former primary school teacher and animation director. We create professional animations for businesses, educational institutions, and organisations across Northern Ireland, Ireland, and the UK. Our registered business activities cover educational support services, pre-primary and primary education content, and cultural education (SIC codes 85100, 85200, 85520, and 85600).
Our website serves as the primary point of contact for organisations interested in our animation services. It covers:
2D Animation – professional animated content for businesses, produced to broadcast quality from our Belfast studio
Explainer Videos – short, focused animations that communicate complex products, services, and processes clearly to target audiences
Educational Animation – animations for schools, universities, e-learning platforms, and training providers, informed by our founder’s teaching background
Corporate Training Animation – animated training content covering onboarding, compliance, health and safety, and skills development
Sales Animation – conversion-focused animated content that supports marketing campaigns and helps businesses communicate their offer clearly
Animation Consultation – strategic planning support for organisations evaluating animation as a communications or training investment

Our Accessibility Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, produced by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), define how to make web content more accessible to people with a range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, cognitive, and neurological conditions.
What We Are Doing to Improve Accessibility
Descriptive alt text – images on the website have meaningful alternative text so screen reader users receive an accurate description of visual content.
Logical heading structure – pages use a consistent hierarchy of headings to help users navigate content efficiently with assistive technology.
Colour contrast – we aim to maintain sufficient contrast between text and background to support users with low vision or colour blindness.
Keyboard navigation – we work to ensure core website functions can be accessed using keyboard navigation alone, without requiring a mouse.
Readable typography – text is presented in clear, legible fonts at sizes that are readable across a range of devices and screen settings.
Responsive design – the website works across screen sizes from mobile phones to desktop monitors without loss of functionality.
Descriptive link text – links are written to make sense out of context, avoiding phrases such as “click here” wherever possible.
Multiple contact methods – we offer contact via online form, telephone, and email so that users with different communication needs can reach us.
HTTPS security – the entire website is served over a secure connection.
Known Limitations
We are transparent about where our website currently falls short:
Some older blog articles may contain images with missing or insufficient alt text. We are working through these pages progressively.
Embedded video content may not always include full captions or audio descriptions. We are improving this for newly published content.
Some PDF documents linked from the site may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We will address these as they are identified.
Some third-party embedded content, such as maps, may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We provide text alternatives where possible.

Accessibility in Our Animation Production
When we produce animations for clients, accessibility requirements can be built into the production brief. Options available as part of our production process include subtitles and closed captions, audio description tracks, high-contrast visual design choices, clear and legible on-screen typography, full written scripts and transcripts, and guidance on hosting and embedding animations accessibly.
If you are commissioning animation from Educational Voice and have specific accessibility requirements, please raise these during the initial briefing stage. Browser and Assistive Technology Compatibility
The website is designed to work with current versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. We aim for compatibility with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver on Apple devices.
